Copyright Policy
Last updated: October 20th, 2026
Free Library respects the intellectual property rights of authors and publishers and removes content that is found to infringe copyright after a notice is verified.
Reporting infringement
If you own or are authorised to act for a copyright and believe a book on the site infringes it, send a notice to [email protected] including:
- Your name and contact details.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you own.
- The exact link(s) to the book(s) concerned.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
We review the notice and may ask for clarification. If infringement is confirmed, we remove or disable the content and inform the uploader where possible. Accounts that repeatedly infringe may be suspended or closed.
Counter-notices
If your content was removed and you believe this was a mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address with your details, a description of the content, the reason for your objection and your signature.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that receive repeated valid copyright complaints will be suspended or terminated.
